I found out that my DNS Suffix Search List is not in effect even though i clearly entered it in tcp/ip properties.
Solution:
I had to enter the DNS Suffix manually in the registry key : [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\DNSClient]"SearchList"="dnsuffix" |
